What a strange statement! Why would anyone make such a statement? How can you limit your gods when most people say they believe in just one God? Allow me to explain.
Yes, I am also in the camp that there is one almighty God. I believe there is one architect to the universe, but the gods we worship today are totally different from the God that I want to be a student of.

According to Merriam-Webster, there are four common definitions of God, but it is the third definition that I want to point out. A person or thing of supreme value.
Most people suffer from too many gods in their lives. A vast majority of us are guilty of giving people, places, and things supreme value when a quick analysis will reveal otherwise.
Allow this list of gods that I have accumulated.

The worship of food and drink
The worship of sleep

The worship of technology
The worship of material assets (homes, cars, jewelry, etc.)
The worship of organizations (churches, thinktanks, universities, etc.)
The worship of parties (Democrats. Republicans, nationalism, etc.)
The worship of fear
Now, I have mentioned the above to come to the subject of this blog. The more gods that you have and worship, the less life will have value to you. The more gods that you remove, the better chance you have of having a sense of self-worth.
This world teaches us from birth that everything you need to be a success is outside of self. When in actuality, everything you need you had at birth.

I will leave you with this quote from the bible to strengthen my case. I will quote one of the ten commandments from the bible (KJV). I wonder if it is a coincidence that the commandment I selected is the first of all the commandments.
