It is said that the ultimate goal in life is to master thyself. I agree, this is in my opinion the greatest path in life. One should put all their energy into being the best version of themselves that they can be. Unfortunately, this is not the way that the vast majority of people live their lives. Most, if not nearly all of us have a force that has completely dominated our lives. This force is our thoughts.
Our thoughts have chained us to the material world that we live in. These chains are made of a hardened material formed by our past pain, future fears, and present unhappiness. We are all imprisoned by our minds. The reason that this happens is we have come to believe over time that we are our thoughts.
Our thoughts are not who we are. Our thoughts are a powerful force given to us by the creator, that first makes us human, and secondly allows us to move the universe to bring an environment into fruition based on our thinking.
Just remember that you are not your thoughts. I can prove my point that you are not your thoughts. Have you ever had a thought about what you are thinking about? Who is that second person thinking the second thought? I remember being mad at someone and thinking about giving them a piece of my mind. Then I had another thought while I was thinking the first thought. The second thought was that is not the right thing to do. Where did that second thought come from? I clearly wanted to curse the person out who was irritating me.
In the Bible it talks about the carnal man and the spiritual man which both reside within. You have the body and mind, then you also have the real you which is the spirit. The carnal you will live roughly 79.9 years then die. The spiritual side of you is older than the sun.
