Today we live in strange times. Everybody is telling you what to do, where to be, what to say, who to vote for and what side you should be on. This is crazy. I will make this quick.
Most people call themselves Americans but have no clue of what that really means. Most think America is a Democracy—wrong. Some think it is a society run on capitalism. You are right by today’s standards, but off the mark in regard to the Declaration of Independence. Some will even say we are the last remaining superpower of the world. This is wrong for three reasons.
According to the constitution, America should not get tangled in foreign affairs. The number one goal of an American is safeguard the welfare of America, and for its citizens not to be the policemen of the world. Secondly you can not be a superpower when another country (China) produces all the goods that we consume. Three, because we Americans are consumers instead of producers (a recipe for disaster), upwards of 70% of America’s GDP is consumer spending. Sad
Then you may ask, what is America? America is a republic according to Article 4 Section 4 of the Constitution, “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government”. Allow me to define Republic.
According to Google, “a Republic is a form of government in which the people or their elected representatives possess the supreme power”.
The supreme power has moved from the people to the wealthy barons, powerful corporations, and oversized government. Because of this, by a very slow process, we are losing more and more freedoms and what it really means to be an American day by day.
The whole reason for this message is to wake us up from the hypnotizing hymn of the American Dream and see the train that we are in that is about to be wrecked. A Republic is by the people, for the people and of the people. It is not by the government, for the corporations and of the wealthy elites.
